Something was off and I just wasn’t happy. I was going through the daily motions of work & home, lost in the daily routine of life. And I was digging myself deeper into this self-imposed box called my comfort zone. I wanted out. So I did a LOT of mindset work, had some new experiences, and haven’t looked back since.

It’s easy to say step out of your comfort zone, but embracing something new can be scary. Especially if you don’t have a support system you can lean on. Lean on me, I’ve been in that zone, and it’s one I don’t want to go back into.

So here are a couple tips to boost you into stepping out of your comfort zone even quicker. Pick an area that needs to be shaken up and go for it. Hey, your love life isn’t the only thing you need to keep hot and fresh, lol.

Here’s what I learned from stepping out of comfort and shaking things up.

1. Starting over can be fun.

When I started my first business, Ki Boss Services, it was in accounting, which made sense because I’m a certified public accountant. Although it worked in my 9-5, it didn’t work as my 6-10, and it showed. I hated it. I wasn’t passionate about it. So I started over and revamped it into doing something I actually love. It’s not traditional, it not easily defined, but it’s combining money, coaching, and empowerment all into one powerful new company. And I couldn’t be more excited to work on it, share it with others, and grow in my lane of genius. So if what you’re doing isn’t giving you the results you want, start over and do it differently. Take the lesson, that maybe it just wasn’t right and you need to correct it.

2. Meeting new people.

When I got out of my comfort zone, there were so many new people sent to help me on my journey. I surrounded myself with people I could learn from and get the lessons I needed. Some were for encouragement, some recommended new books, some introduced me to other people. But this new circle of support pushed me into new environments where I met new people. It’s like the old saying when the student is ready the teacher will appear. These new people shared their wisdom or led me to others to help me learn and grow. Get out there and meet new people. Show others support.

3. Self-awareness and direction became a priority.

I started to get more in tune with who I was and what I wanted. I was able to envision what I wanted my future to look like. It allowed me to get honest about the direction I was going as a woman, mother, but also as an entrepreneur. The main thing it made me realize is, if it’s not going to make me a better person, I’m probably not interested in it. My vision became clear and I gained laser focus towards achieving my goal.
