Your Goals May Be Your Mistakes

I know there are many times in life where we feel we could or should have done some things differently in our lives. Whelp as we all are aware each passing moment is irretrievable. The best thing we can do is move forward with intention.

There is a good saying that I myself should to go by a little more; “if you fail to plan you plan to fail”.  My weekends at times are all over the place because I will plan maybe one event and play the remainder of my weekend by ear.

With this strategy, before I know it the weekend is OVER and I have not achieved even half of what I would’ve like to.  I’m not sure if you can relate but this week (including the weekend) I am goal setting, planning my time and following the regimen, hopefully, you will create your own set of plans to go by.

Don’t Feel Selfish Because You’re Not Doing It All

When is the last time you sat down and actually felt like you had time to breathe? Hopefully, at a minimum, it was last Saturday.

For me that may mean that the entire house won’t be cleaned, all the laundry won’t get washed and put away. It may even mean a drive-thru for dinner. But I’m not running ragged trying to get everything done when I’m falling apart. So I’ve learned over the years to stop trying to do everything for everyone, and have them pitch in.

Be Selfish When It Comes To You

From the time we’re kids,  we’re taught to share, give, help out, put others first, and compromise. Then as we transition to girlfriends, wives,  and mothers, we continue to put everyone’s needs before our own. Then what happens?

You get tired, you get frustrated, you lose who you are, you forget who you want to be, and you just exist.

So going forward, every week, we’re going to be selfish.
